May 2006 Newsletter

'Now we are ten.'  We have just taken in three more boys, aged 4, 6 and 7.  They are malnourished but we hope to soon remedy this as the other children have all shown positive signs in this respect.

Kitchen!

Many thanks to all who helped to make our Nepali Evening at Tarrant Keynston on 13th May such a resounding success.  Particular thanks to Christine for organising the event, Angie for providing the (wonderful!) venue and Captain (QGO) Ratna with his teams of ladies and soldiers from Blandford Camp for decorating the hall,  and providing delicious Nepali food and a spectacular display of traditional Nepali dancing.  Approximately 150 people enjoyed the evening and we made a profit of £1,470.  (We hope to have pictures on the website shortly.)

Thanks to the organisers of The Mayfly Arts Festival held today (28th May) at King's Park, Boscombe, where we had a stall selling Nepali goods.  The weather was kind and our day's 'takings' were £290.  Thanks to Fay, Andy, Hayley and Tom for their sterling work.
